2. I would not have fridged Amanda! Instead I would have killed off Sarek (sorry, Sarek) and had Spock angst about that and be all "DADDY NEVER LOVED ME WHYYY" until Amanda slapped some sense into him.

Oh, that would have been cool! And bonus angst because Spock and Sarek hadn't reconciled yet, and Spock Prime would know that. And then Amanda's further adventures with Spock Prime -- awesome! (It also doesn't hurt that I never really warmed up to not-Mark-Lenard!Sarek. He was just ... not Mark Lenard.)
