Why must it cost $74 to take a bus from Fargo to Minneapolis? Why? Why does the universe hate me?

Well, not hate, but wants to severely discomfit me. Srsly. My ride back to the Twin Cities ditched on me so now I'm not completely sure on how I'm going to go home over midsemester break in two weeks. Bus or train are of course options, but mooching off somebody else with a car sounds even better, even though go-to guy, my designated moochee, has ditched me for a debate tournament in Texas. Can you believe that? Why would someone rather go to motherfucking Texas than spend four hours in a car with me?

On the bright side, I've started watching Stargate: Atlantis and for reasons I can't quite explain have been completely charmed by it

I don't know why because I initially thought the writing, acting, and cinematography were all pretty mediocre...which they kind of are, but I figure 8+ years of obsessively watching MST3K episode has taught me the difference between lulzy, cheesy, yet fun mediocre and the "END! END!" mediocre that makes Tom Servo's head explode at the end of episodes. In other words, I now have an inexplicable crush on kind of bad yet really hot and sort of likable actors and the asshole-ish scientists who love them. Plus a lot of the fic, contrary what lol_meme has led me to believe, is not all completely shitastic, which always makes me happy.

So, worst case scenario I can't get a ride and am forced to sit in the dorm room alone all weekend watching reruns of Family Feud in my underwear while eating all of roommate's sherbert. Could be worse, right? ;)

ME TOO!!! (I shriek with all the overwrought enthusiasm of a geek with a new fandom.) Actually, I started watching it a couple weeks ago because some friends linked me to fic without telling me what fandom it was from, and I liked it.

Objectively, I think that it is mediocre in many ways (production values, dialogue, some of the acting...), but it's fun and I like the characters, and that's really all I need.

Inorite? It's silly but really enjoyable and when the actors aren't that good they make up for it by being really smoking hot.

I got linked to a really good story too, which was surprising to me since my only exposure to the fic before last week had been back in the old days of lol_meme when the SGA mice would spam the meme with lots of lolarious McShep badfic. I was pleasantly surprised to realize a lot of it didn't suck. :D

What? The tournament's in TEXAS? WTF? Why would he ever voluntarily go back there? o.O;

But you HAVE to come back. I can handle Brett not coming back, but I'll die without you! D=

I think you're talking about the Rita Skeeter, "my reviews have destroyed whole cities!" icon. That was the one that never worked for whatever reason (I think the file was too big?), not this one. This one I just did as normal.
