Saw the new James Bond yesterday and was mostly impressed! They brought back Felix Lyter, which generally impressed me, maybe because while I was kind of meh about him in "Casino Royale," apparently I find him ten times hotter when he's all depressed and growly and drunk for the entire movie. WHO KNEW.
1) They cut out Villiers, who was M's secretary in the last movie and was played by the guy who played Brutus in Rome, and replaced him with some chunky ugly guy. This angers me because I was going to (but never got around to) write and build up a fandom around a fic where Bond and Villiers team up to fuck and fight fascist terrorist groups or some shit, I don't know. I bet I was the only one who had any strong reaction to that character either way, they totes should have kept him.
2) That was ok, though, Camille was amazing enough to make up for him. Although I guess she didn't exactly fit into the plot very well. She just kind of turned up every now and then, but you know, when the Bond franchise tries to integrate women into the plot they usually end up getting dipped in oil and fridged, so I guess I'm ok with Camille having her own little independent B plot where she gets ~*revenge*~ while wearing sensible killing sneakers.
3) What was up with Miss Fields? Did she have a point besides to die all ~*artfully*~? Her stupid name didn't even have a punchline.
4) How come I find Craig's Bond so likable even when he doesn't do a single likable thing the entire movie? It's freaky. All my life I've been watching Bond films and I don't think there was one back then that didn't leave me thinking "Wow that James Bond is a smarmy prick." Your powers of ugly man's charm are strange, Daniel Craig.
So, Bond/Felix Lyter, y/n?

And I'm still holding out hope for Moneypenny, but if we're not going to get her, I'd rather have Villiers back. I miss the extended supporting cast!

There are no bad puns after he kills people anymore, so I'm thinking yeah, you're probably right.

Me too! At least M is still amazing. ♥
